Professor Sushanta from the University of London conducted high-level teaching activities for our faculty and students.

At the invitation of the School of Finance, Mallick Sushanta Kumar, Professor at Queen Mary University of London, conducted high-level teaching activities at our university between December 17th and 20th. Prof. Sushanta is the co-editor-in-chief of the SSCI journal Economic Modelling, and has published more than 100 academic papers in international high-level journals. His research interests include macroeconomic policy, international finance and corporate finance. In this activity, he taught the English-only course "International Business Finance" for young teachers and 7 doctoral students of the School of Finance.

Prof. Sushanta explained in detail the significant knowledge of international finance from five aspects, namely monetary system, foreign exchange market, exchange rate determination theory, foreign exchange risk and risk management of multinational enterprises, guiding teachers and students to understand the core theories of international finance during the four-day teaching of the course "International Business Finance". During the course, Prof. Sushanta elaborated on how exchange rate movements can lead to business risks for multinational corporations and how to hedge the risks through the foreign exchange market so as to achieve the goal of maximizing the value of multinational corporations, as well as providing an in-depth understanding of the process and impact of corporate foreign exchange risk management decisions from specific case studies. Prof. Sushanta then guided the students and faculty to expand their study of the research field of corporate finance, introduced cutting-edge econometric models in scientific research, stimulated interest in economics issues, standardized research methods, and encouraged them to actively create academic value.

After class, Prof. Sushanta introduced the key points of English paper title and abstract writing, as well as how to submit articles to foreign journals. In addition, Prof. Sushanta also showed some of the papers under review, and combined the relevant theoretical knowledge taught in the class, as well as the rich experience in writing and reviewing economics papers, introduced the basic idea of English papers from the perspectives of novelty of topic selection, standardization of writing, and richness of content.

Prof. Sushanta's top-notch teaching activities in our university this time provided valuable opportunities for teachers and students to learn international cutting-edge knowledge in depth. It not only enriches the knowledge of our faculty and students and enhances their understanding of the latest trends and theoretical knowledge in the field of global finance, but also greatly contributes to the expansion of international vision and effectively improves the quality and influence of education.
